Etiquette evening is an annual event held in October and organized by the Asper School of Business’ Professional Development Committee. Etiquette Evening is a very popular event among students in both Asper and other faculties who are interested in learning how to properly dine and socialize in a formal business dinner setting.
Etiquette Evening is a stress-free and fun environment designed to make students feel comfortable to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes in preparation for real professional dinner settings. At Etiquette Evening, students will be seated at a table and coached on how to properly dine at a fancy three course dinner by an etiquette coach. The etiquette coach expects that most students in attendance have never learned how to dine in an upscale business setting and is there to explain mistakes and answer any questions about professional dining.
Etiquette Evening is the perfect way for students to prepare for one of Asper’s biggest and most important events of the year, Business Banquet! Business Banquet gives students the opportunity to sit at a table with a business professional from a major company and it is expected of the students to know how to properly dine and interact. This point makes Etiquette Evening a vital event to attend in preparation for both Business Banquet and a professional career in business. Showing professionals seated at your Business Banquet table that you have the knowledge and manners expected in a professional dinner setting is a great way for them to remember you in a positive manner and is also a great conversation starter leading to networking with them and learning more about their company.
