The 13th Annual Etiquette Evening took place at Bergmann’s on Lombard on November 10th. At this event, those in attendance were taught some important skills to add to their repertoire of professional dining and networking knowledge. Civility expert Lew Bayer led us through a three-course meal, correcting our faux-pas as the night went on, and offering invaluable tips on how to eat Continental Style! Guests then participated in a short networking activity where we were challenged to hold a plate, napkin, and wine glass gracefully in one hand, while conversing with other guests and shaking hands with the other (some wine may have been spilled in the process).
After a delicious dessert, a group of friends brought a surprise birthday dessert for Etiquette Evening co-planner Nav Gill as they encouraged everyone to sing “happy birthday” while she blew out a birthday candle! The night came to a not-so-etiquette close as the dance floor opened up and gave way to good music and dancing. We would like to thank everyone who attended Etiquette Evening this year, and the best of luck next time you are faced with 5 forks in one place setting!
