For many of you, the upcoming school year is the farthest thing in your mind right now as you begin your summer job, internship, or travels, but for the CSA Council, we are well on our way to getting started on making the 2016-2017 school year the best one yet for Asper’s student body!
The new Executive Council is now in place, consisting of George Semchuk (President), Eric MacLise (Vice-President of Operations), Myles Dancho (Vice-President of Corporate Relations), Matthew Thomson (Vice-President of Finance), Bryce Romagnoli (Vice-President of Programming), Cassidy Coutts (Vice-President of Marketing & Communications), and Breanne Timlick (Vice-President of Student Services), as well as the 40+ members of General Council, and we are all extremely eager to enhance Asper in every way!
Although multiple new initiatives and events are in the works, we look at the year ahead as an opportunity to make things better, not bigger. We plan to ensure students are well aware of the opportunities they can take advantage of, including some of our recent additions, such as TASTE and Asper’s Frosh week, The Commerce Week (TCW). As well as working on these new initiatives, we plan to improve Commerce Socials to ensure they live up to the age-old Asper reputation, work hard play harder! Not to mention the 50th Annual Business Banquet. With an updated venue, and a highly anticipated keynote speaker, there is no doubt that this will be the best BB yet!
Although we have various plans and ideas, we want to hear from YOU! If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas of how Asper can be improved, don’t hesitate to contact any one of us and we will be happy to speak with you.
Stay tuned this summer by following us on social media to find out details on TCW! Taking place the first week of classes, September 6-9, there will be tons of academic and social events including the STAG & Career Fair, beer gardens, and a brand new social event (details to be announced).
We look forward to a great year ahead, but for now, enjoy your summer holidays!
Sincerely,
CSA Executive Council 2016-2017
