Welcome,

Please find below details about the CSA’s workshop with Vanesa Cotlar. Please read Vanesa’s bio as this will give you an idea about who she is and the diverse nature of experiences that she has had. The workshop will be interactive and students will have a chance to hear from her but also ask her questions and pick her brain. For someone who is unsure of what path to take after graduation, this is the perfect opportunity as Vanesa had such a wide range of experiences and there is so much to learn from her.

Vanesa is an ambitious community leader who spends her days as the Director of People Operations at iQmetrix. Her past experiences include working for Monitor Deloitte Canada where she provided strategic guidance to some of the world’s largest companies and building the Winnipeg talent ecosystem with Economic Development Winnipeg. Vanesa has worked in over 15 countries, and has a unique understanding of how different markets operate and how people have found success in them.

Prior to returning to Winnipeg in 2019, she was the co-founder and CEO of Octagon Careers, a German-based HR-tech startup that focused on understanding the skills and aptitudes that indicated success in certain roles, and assessing and hiring based on those attributes. She made the shortlist for the Business Leader of the Year – Women in IT Awards for her work with her start-up and also won several pitch competitions.

In her spare time, Vanesa contributes to the Winnipeg Tech community as the CMO of TechWPG, and by volunteering at North Forge Technology Exchange as their Pitch Coach for start-ups. She is also an Ambassador and Speaker for Manitoba Women in Technology.

The event is on February 22nd at 6:30pm
